The islands connected to Greece are the perfect destination if you are interested in history and want to experience somewhere truly beautiful.  The Cyclades, as they are known, are 200 small islands and 23 larger ones, with the most famous known as Santorini and Mykonos.

Croatia And Its Islands

There are various places to go to around the Mediterranean Sea.  However, one that is often forgotten about is Croatia and the over 1000 islands that sit on its coast.  The Dalmatian Coast, for instance, has the isolated and barren Kornati archipelago and various other islands that have hundreds of years of history, including the likes of Brac, that has the beach thought to be the most beautiful of its kind in the country, called Golden Horn.

French Riviera

If you are looking to experience both larger cosmopolitan areas, beaches and virtually unspoilt islands; you should consider the French Riviera as your next destination.  You can visit Monte Carlo, Nice and Cannes or you could go a little further and escape it all to Port Cros, which is like a French version of a Caribbean port dotted with palm trees and a calm atmosphere.

Palermo, Sicily

Some of the most beautiful and renowned beaches in the world can be found along the Mediterranean coast at Palermo.  From here you can make the most of the ten plus beaches, and hop between the other islands there.

Turkey

Turkey is a popular destination for sailing holidays that can actually be seen as 7 different areas – south-east Anatolia, east highlands, central Anatolian Plateau, west Anatolia, Black Sea region, Mediterranean and Aegean regions, Marmara Sea’s borderlands and Thrace.  Through the course of history, many religions and other cultures have settled in Turkey which has given in such a rich and diverse heritage.  This can be experienced from travelling along the coast of this great country and taking trips on to the shore.

The Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are one of the most popular destinations for all kinds of holidays, particularly those based at sea since Columbus first visited.  Whether you go to Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Tenerife El Hierro, La Palma or Lanzarote, you will have a wonderful experience with lots of history and culture to learn about along with beautiful beaches.

Phuket, Thailand

Phuket is considered by many to be the number one sailing destination in all of south-east Asia, thanks to the spectacular rock formations, amazing islands and seemingly never-ending coastline.  Phuket is perfect for anyone who wants to get away from the busy tourist areas and take in the sights, sounds and smells of the exotic flora and fauna and secret bays and coves that can be found there.
